In it, Shaq jokes that Carvana has him working customer service, then starts yelling at an imaginary call center agent to hurry up because callers are still waiting.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His celebrity is definitely part of the appeal, but it&#8217;s not really the point.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It&#8217;s\u00a0that Carvana found a way to inject a little personality into a moment most companies completely overlook.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-advanced-heading uagb-block-9499b177\"><h2 class=\"uagb-heading-text\">Think About the Average On-hold Customer Experience<\/h2><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The messages are often generic, interchangeable, and forgettable. Most callers\u00a0couldn&#8217;t\u00a0tell you which company they were calling if you removed the name. Carvana&#8217;s message feels different because it sounds like something only Carvana would do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not every business should put Shaq on its phone system, of course.&nbsp;But every business can think about how to make the experience feel a little more human.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That might mean:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A touch of humor\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A warm welcome\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Helpful information customers\u00a0actually care\u00a0about\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A seasonal update\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A customer success story\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An employee spotlight\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The goal\u00a0isn&#8217;t\u00a0to be funny for the sake of being funny.\u00a0It&#8217;s\u00a0to create a connection and remind callers that there are real people behind the brand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some of the most effective caller experiences&nbsp;we&#8217;ve&nbsp;heard over the years&nbsp;aren&#8217;t&nbsp;necessarily the most polished or the most expensive.&nbsp;They&#8217;re&nbsp;the ones that feel authentic.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">People respond to personality. They remember things that feel human.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Carvana happened to use Shaq.
