Business Music Made Easy

Setup and Compatibility

Already have an amplifier and speakers? The 2CBAS connects Brandi Music to them. Starting without a sound system? Alexa and Sonos offer flexible alternatives.

Start With What You Have

There is more than one way to play Brandi Music.

Your best setup depends on whether your business already has an overhead speaker system, how many areas need audio, and whether those areas need the same or different music. Easy On Hold can help you identify the simplest reliable connection.

Installed System

Connect the 2CBAS to an input on your existing mixer or amplifier.

Reliable Streaming

Use wired Ethernet when possible for stable, continuous business audio.

Alexa or Sonos

Add compatible wireless speakers when installed audio is not available.

Multiple Zones

Plan different music streams for separate customer or employee areas.

Traditional Overhead Audio

Connect Brandi Music to your existing amplifier.

The 2-Channel Business Audio System—2CBAS—is a dedicated audio player provided by Easy On Hold. It receives your Brandi Music programming over the internet and supplies an analog audio signal to your sound system.

In a typical installation, an audio cable runs from the appropriate 2CBAS output to an available input on a mixer, amplifier, or combined mixer-amplifier. That equipment powers and distributes the sound to ceiling, pendant, or wall-mounted speakers.

The device is designed for continuous operation, includes local failover audio, and can deliver two unique streams for two separate zones.

The Basic Connection

Four steps from the network to the speakers.

1

Connect the Network

Plug the provided Ethernet cable into the 2CBAS and a router or network switch. DHCP is the simplest configuration.

2

Connect the Audio

Run the appropriate audio cable from the 2CBAS output to an available input on the mixer or amplifier.

3

Connect Power

Use the supplied adapter and a surge-protected outlet. The player starts automatically.

4

Set the Level

Confirm playback, then balance the 2CBAS output and amplifier controls for comfortable, consistent volume.

Planning a New Installed System

Design the room before choosing the hardware.

Speaker count and amplifier size depend on the space. Consider square footage, ceiling height, indoor or outdoor use, building finishes, listener density, and the number of programming zones. Also identify counters or consultation areas where music should be quieter—or absent.

An installed system may include a mixer, amplifier, equalizer, 70-volt speaker wiring, local volume controls, and paging or wireless microphones. Some products combine the mixer and amplifier in one unit.

For speaker placement, amplifier sizing, and permanent wiring, Easy On Hold recommends an onsite commercial audio professional.

Questions to answer first

  • How large is each listening area?
  • How high are the ceilings?
  • Do indoor and outdoor areas need coverage?
  • How many distinct audio zones are needed?
  • Will paging or event microphones share the system?
  • Is wired Ethernet available near the amplifier?

Don’t Have Installed Speakers?

Start with Alexa-enabled or Sonos speakers.

Wireless speakers can bring licensed Brandi Music to a lobby, office, waiting room, studio, clinic, boutique, or other smaller environment without installing a traditional distributed speaker system.

Alexa + My Brandi Music

Enable the My Brandi Music skill in the Alexa app, retrieve your unique profile ID from your Easy On Hold cloud account, and link the speaker to your stream. Voice commands can start, stop, or select a stream.

Each location needs dependable Wi-Fi, an Amazon account, the Alexa app, a compatible Alexa-enabled device, and an active Brandi Music account.

Brandi Music on Sonos

Sonos provides two useful paths. Play through Alexa on a compatible speaker, or connect the 2CBAS to the line input on a Sonos Era 100 using the required Sonos USB-C line-in adapter.

The wired line-in approach gives you a dedicated Ethernet-fed source and allows Sonos to distribute that audio to grouped speakers over Wi-Fi.

Business music setup and compatibility FAQ

Answers about existing sound systems, 2CBAS connections, network requirements, audio zones, Alexa, and Sonos.

In most cases, yes. The Easy On Hold 2CBAS audio player provides an audio output that can connect to a mixer, amplifier, or combined mixer-amplifier feeding an installed overhead speaker system. Easy On Hold can help confirm the correct connection.

Connect the 2CBAS to the internet, connect its audio output to an available input on the mixer or amplifier, then connect power. The amplifier distributes the Brandi Music stream to the installed speakers.

No. A wired Ethernet connection is preferred for the most stable, always-on stream. The device can also be configured for Wi-Fi when necessary.

Yes. The 2CBAS can be configured with two unique mono audio streams for two zones, such as a showroom and service area, or an office and warehouse.

The 2CBAS continuously monitors connectivity and can play preconfigured locally stored audio during an interruption. It automatically resumes the internet stream after connectivity returns.

Brandi Music can play through compatible Alexa-enabled speakers using the My Brandi Music skill. Sonos is another flexible option, using Alexa or a 2CBAS connected to a compatible Sonos line input.

Easy On Hold supplies and supports the Brandi Music service and 2CBAS audio player. For speaker layout, amplifier sizing, 70-volt wiring, and installation, we recommend working with an experienced local commercial audio professional.
