Music On Hold for NEC SL 2100
The NEC SL 2100 series is an on-premise phone system for small businesses looking for simplicity and affordability. It is a hybrid phone system and can accomodate VoIP, SIP trunks and CTI applications (softphone and other business applications). NEC provides a description of capabilities in their online brochure.
- The NEC SL 2100 can use the Easy On Hold® 2-Channel Business Audio System (2CBAS) as an exellent source of music and messages on hold. Streaming audio is available.

- The external audio interfaces are located on the IP7WW-308U-A1 or IP7WW-082U-B1 cards. A system would not typically have both types of these cards installed, ensure you use the instructions within this guide for the correct card installed in your system.

Custom RJ45-to-RCA Cable Required
The NEC card’s Music On Hold input is designed for a mono, line-level signal with a 600 Ω impedance. The pin assignments shown are specific for connecting the EOH 2CBAS device from Easy On Hold. The Easy On Hold® 2-Channel Business Audio System is fully compatiblel with the NEC 2100 series.
- RJ45 Pin 2 → RCA Tip: This carries the audio signal from your Easy On Hold device into the NEC system.
- RJ45 Pin 7 → RCA Sleeve This is the ground connection for the audio.
- The Tip of the RCA plug is the “hot” audio lead, and the Sleeve is ground, which is standard for unbalanced audio.
- The RCA plug will use the 600-Ohm output on the back of the EOH 2CBAS aduio device
